Yoga, Stillness & Raw Crackers

Image
Yesterday morning I woke at 5a.m ready for a shower and a yoga session.  Afterwards, at around 6a.m, I took my yoga mat outside for some meditation and journaling.  It was a perfect summer morning, the sun was just rising, the birds were happily singing away and there was a lovely feeling of stillness.  Everything felt right in that moment.  I wrote in my journal, and took many cleansing deep breaths, breathing in the lovely, fresh morning air. I felt so calm and peaceful.  This is one of the many reasons i'm so passionate about meditation.  It has the power to make you feel completely at peace and to simply enjoy the moment.  No worries, no stress, just complete relaxation.  Luke woke at about 7a.m and came and sat on my yoga mat with me.  For the next half an hour we sat there, snuggled up in a blanket, and chatted about everything we could think of.  After such a lovely start to the day, I felt very positive a...

Creating My Raw Food Kitchen

Image
Yesterday, I received a parcel with my new dehydrator and spiralizer, as well as soon other raw kitchen supplies. I've been wanting a dehydrator for well over a year, and finally decided that now is the right time.  I was very excited to say the least.  I went for a Stockli, which i've heard is really good, so i'm looking forwards to lots of creative time in the kitchen over the next few weeks. Today, Luke and I tried out the spiralizer, which was a bit more complicated than we expected, but we did get the hang of it eventually.  We made carrot and courgette spaghetti, and had that with salad, apple, cashew nuts and olives.  Tomorrow i'm hoping to make some raw crackers or kale chips  I'm looking forwards to experimenting and coming up with some new recipes. I've also been enjoying lots of juices, and this one was delicious - Orange, Carrot and Ginger. It's lovely first thing on a morning as it helps you to feel really ene...

My Day At The Tree Of Life Festival

Image
I've just arrived home from the Tree Of Life Festival and it's been the most amazing day.  It's a day full of talks about raw foods, health, spirituality and living the life you love, and some amazing people were there including Karen Knowler , Saskia Fraser and Russell James .  I've already met Saskia, so it was lovely to catch up with her, and I had a lovely chat with Karen as i'm on her raw food course, but this was the first chance i've had to meet her in person. I'm feeling so motivated and full of ideas and inspiration. I've learnt some lovely raw food recipes which i'll share once i've tried them out myself, and I had a gorgeous lunch of raw crackers, sprouted seeds, salad, raw hummus, green juice and a slice of raw chocolate cake!
