Oracle Cards, Jewellery Making & A Raw Christmas

Image
Since my trip to London last month, i've been focusing on getting lots of oracle card readings done for my certification. I'm almost half way through, and it's been lovely connecting with so many people and using the cards to offer guidance and support. I'm loving learning about different spreads, and building my confidence in intuitive reading. I've been combining readings with meditation and crystals which makes them even more special and increases energetic healing. I've also been doing angel card readings, just for myself for now, and i'm really enjoying learning more about this too.  I've also been making lots of jewellery over the last few weeks, some for Christmas presents and some for myself. I attended a metal stamping class, and made some Christmas decorations. I'm planning on buying some metal stamping supplies and making more of this kind of jewellery. I love that you can stamp any words or messages onto them and make them very pers...

A Creative & Spiritual Journey

Image
I've just spent an amazing and inspiring weekend in London, a weekend full of joy, tears, release, creativity and spiritual connection. I'm still feeling extremely emotional now, but in a good way, like i've let go of so many negative and limiting thoughts and embraced a future of endless possibilities. First of all, on Friday afternoon, I did some sightseeing around London, checking out some of the famous landmarks such as Big Ben, the London Eye, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. I had lunch at my favourite raw, vegan cafe, which was raw pizza followed by raw chocolate cheesecake. And even managed to find some nature in the heart of London. Then it was onto London Jewellery School for a class in making cocktail rings. I had a lovely 3 hours being creative, trying out different beads and colours and chatting to the others in the class. It was a lovely evening and these are the rings I made. On Saturday morning...

Artist Dates, Jewellery Workshops, Meditation & Time in Nature

Image
At the beginning of this year I began reading The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. It's one of my favourite books and I always feel so inspired reading it. The idea is that you write your morning pages (3 pages first thing when you wake up) every day and take yourself on a weekly artist date. This can be anything, a nature walk alone, a trip to a museum etc. I have definitely been neglecting both of these as life gets in the way so last month I decided to try again. I always found artists dates very helpful - time to think, meditate and nurture yourself.  I decided to take myself off to a jewellery making workshop, followed by lunch in my favourite raw vegan cafe. I had a beautiful raw meal followed by raw chocolate cheesecake and a peppermint tea, whilst reading my book. I felt completely reenergised afterwards and i'm determined to carry this on, even if I can't manage it every week.  I've now attended two jewellery making workshops, and booked on a few mo...

Family Time, Raw Food Inspiration & Being Brave

Image
As usual it's been very hectic around here. I started my new job two days ago and I love it. I get to spend my work days advising people on vitamins, nutrition and herbal remedies. It's perfect for me, and i'm so grateful to have found such an amazing job.  I've been trying to make the time that i'm not at work or studying, special time for me and the boys. We've enjoyed snuggling up on the sofa watching dvd's and late night walks in nature. I love moments like these, they are one of the reasons that being a parent is the best feeling in the world.  I've also been busy in the kitchen creating some recipes and getting some practice with my dehydrator. This week i've made a raw rice and vegetable dish, raw carrot cake, kale chips and raw sundried tomato crackers. They were all delicious and I really enjoyed getting creative in the kitchen. So my journey towards making positive changes in my life continues. This year has been fu...

New Beginnings

Image
Since arriving home from Europe, i've been feeling so overwhelmed by the changes in my life. It's certainly been an exciting, but emotional few weeks. The major change is that after 4 years of homeschooling, Luke started high school last week. Although we'd planned that he would go, it was still tougher than I expected. I walked with him on the first morning, and as I stood at the school gates watching him walk up the drive way of the school, I couldn't hold back the tears. It was a tough moment. I walked away from the school that morning contemplating what a big change this meant for us. However, he seems to be settling in well and is still my happy little man who loves cuddles and snuggling up together to read or watch a dvd. Those moments seem even more precious now.  Then a few days later I got had a job interview for a part time job in a health food shop. I was wanting something which would fit in around the boys, and my studies and setting up my busin...

Travelling On Raw

Image
Eating raw whilst travelling was one of the main challenges for me on our recent trip around Europe. I didn't expect to be able to eat completely raw, but I knew I wanted to eat healthy, nutritious foods with as much raw as possible. I'm intolerant to dairy, wheat and gluten so I had to avoid these completely too. I thought i'd share some of my experiences and tips for anyone planning on eating raw whilst travelling. First of all I took some supplies with me. These were: My juicer and stainless steel bottles Raw chocolate Homemade raw muesli - raisins, dates, sunflower seeds and almonds Bags of cashews and pistachios Packs of dried fruit Herbal teas Jars of olives I also took mini cartons of rice milk with me to go with my morning cereal.  I can't eat hotel breakfasts as they usually consist of bread and cereal, so I took my muesli and rice milk with me each morning and ate that whilst the boys ate theirs. On days when breakfa...

Our Road Trip Around Europe

Image
We arrived home from our road trip late on Saturday evening, after 18 days of driving through France, Italy, Austria, Germany and Belgium. It was an amazing experience for all of us, although the boys got a little homesick towards the end. We visited some beautiful places, and had fun speaking different languages. Luke loved swimming in the Mediterannean, whilst Dylan and Dave enjoyed driving up the Stelvio Pass in Italy, and visiting the Nurbergring.  I loved visiting beautiful cities such as Venice, Verona and Bruges, improving my French and learning Italian and German. I bought some lovely herbal teas in Bruges which I have been trying out since getting home, and a gorgeous Lapis Luzuli crystal which I bought in the French Alps in the little shop that the owner of the apartments owns. He was a druid and had so many interesting stories to tell.  He knew so much about crystals and spiritual energy, he told the boys about the animals which lived in the mountains, and we ev...
