A Snowy Easter

Image
Luke woke up early this morning, excited to do his Easter egg hunt that I prepared last night.  We woke up Dylan and had a fun half an hour looking around the house for the eggs.   Then we got ourselves ready, with lots of coats, gloves and scarves, and drove out to the Peak District for a walk in the snow.  Although it was extremely cold, the scenery was absolutely beautiful and we had a lovely time.  The boys enjoyed climbing on the rocks and we enjoyed taking lots of photos. It was a lovely way to spend Easter Sunday and we're now looking forwards to warming up by the fire to watch a dvd together.  The perfect end to a lovely day.

Crystal Love

I've been working extremely hard on my crystal healing course over the last few weeks, learning so much and gaining so much inspiration.  I've really loved the course, and I just have my case studies to do now before i'm a certified crystal healer. I've learnt more than I ever imagined I would, not only about the crystals themselves, but also about geology, sensing energy, chakras, colours, healing animals and so much more. I was very happy this morning when a delivery arrived with lots of lovely, new crystals and a new crystal book. I'm very excited now to do some case studies on my friends and family, make some gem elixirs and try out some crystal grids. I've been using crystals for a few years, and always felt the energies quite easily, but now I really feel that special connection.  They have helped me so much over the years, and they certainly go very nicely when combined with reiki.  Double healing! Here's a few of my new crystals ...

Letting Go and Creating A Vision For The Future

Image
Over the last few weeks i've been thinking a lot about the idea of letting go.  It's come up a lot in my courses and in books i've been reading.  I know that sometimes it's important to let go in order to move forwards and that's felt like something i've needed to do recently. As well as decluttering the house, and letting go of things I no longer need, i've made the decision to combine all of my blogs into one blog. This will be much simpler and feels right to me at this time.  So this is the blog i'll be using from now on.  I've been enjoying making lots of changes and feel that I have definitely made the right decision.  I'm looking forwards to making more changes over the next few days.   One of the tasks I had to do for a course i'm doing with Karen Knowler called Living Magically On Raw, was to create a vision book.  This is a similar idea to a vision board, and I cut out lots of inspiring pictures from magazines to make it.  I n...

Homeschooling Adventures - Creativity In The Kitchen

Image
Luke and I have spent a lot of time in the kitchen over the last few days.   Yesterday Luke decided that he wanted to cook himself some salmon for lunch.  He made it all by himself, cut up some salad and decorated it.  He was very proud of himself for making something so tasty.  I couldn't taste it myself as i'm vegan, but it did look really lovely. Here is the finished result.  I was really proud of him, and I think he'll make a very good chef when he's older. We spent even more time in the kitchen today, this time making herbal remedies.  We made infused herbal oil, then used this to make a healing balm. The herbs we used were st johns wort, comfrey, calendula and plantain, as well as lavender essential oil.  Luke did all the measuring and learnt about some of the herbs that we were using. This is definitely the way he enjoys to learn, by doing lots of practical activities, and it's a very enjoyable way to facilitate this...
