Photography and Nature
Sometimes in the chaos of everyday life, there is nothing more relaxing than a trip out into nature. The fresh air and peace and quiet are very good for the soul, and something that I find essential in life. Combining that with my passion for photography makes it even more enjoyable.
So this last week, me and Luke have taken many trips outdoors, to the park, the woods and our favourite nature reserve. I took my camera along and we both enjoyed taking lots of photos of trees, birds and other creatures. It's a lovely way to connect with your children, and Luke really enjoys carrying the camera around, taking pictures of everything he sees. It's also lovely when you have a passion that you can share with your child, and I really hope his love of photography will last.
For myself, after yoga I think being outdoors comes a close second in nourishing my soul and calming my mind. I always feel so much happier after a lovely long walk in the trees. There is something very healing about it.
So i'd love to share a few of the hundreds of photos we've taken this week.
Another way we've found to enjoy nature together, is to observe the changes in the seasons, and we've decided that we'll go to the nature reserve at least once a month to see how it changes throughout the year, how the trees and leaves change, which birds are there at different times of year etc. This is another example of learning through fun. Although, I have a feeling we'll be needing raincoats, gloves and scarves for a few of these trips in the next few months.
So my advice to everyone is to find a lovely space in nature and visit it often. There is no better place to calm your mind and feel happy and free.

ReplyDeleteGreat photos Kelly, and all the things you say above are so true. As you know I too share your love of nature. There is nothing better for cleansing the soul than being outdoors surrounded by the beauty of nature :-)
