A Lovely Day Out

Today Luke and I decided to take a trip to a botanical gardens.  We planned the trip a few days ago, looked at the website and typed up a list of animals, wildlife and plants that we wanted to look for.  We printed it out and took it with us today.  We had a lovely time.  Luke wants to work with animals when he is older so he enjoys any kind of trip like this. 











After that, we sat in the gardens to have some food and then explored in the woods.






I always find it really helpful to get out of the house and do something different, particularly if it involves being in nature.  It's not only been a lovely trip, but a very educational one as well, and I do find that Luke learns more, and enjoys learning more, when he is having fun.

    Definitely. I've not been feeling too well this week so it was lovely just to have a relaxing day out together. We were lucky to have lovely weather too. xx

    Thanks Kim, you're very welcome here. Being out in nature is our favourite place to be, and Luke loves climbing trees, picking up insects and paddling in the stream with his wellies on. It's a beautiful place, he loved looking at the animals and exploring. Looking forward to keeping up with your blog too. xx

It's been a while since I posted an update as life has been so busy with lots of exciting things happening. At the end of September we spent 3 days in the Lake District for our friends wedding. It was a beautiful place and we had a really lovely time.  We stayed in a gorgeous little house which was part of a B&B in a little village near Ullswater.  On the first morning, the boys went outside to explore and found a deer in the field next to us. They spent ages watching it, whilst Luke also made friends with the B&B owners cat. Dylan managed to get a few photos which look amazing. He was so happy. The wedding was beautiful and the boys looked very handsome. We had a lovely time, ate lovely food, took a book ride around the Ullswater and met some lovely people. My Photography Project

I've had a week off work this week and time for a much needed rest. There's been so many amazing things happening this year and i'm feeling so grateful for everything. The only down side to this is that I don't always get the chance to follow my creative passions as much as i'd like. So this week has given me the chance to reconnect with my love of photography and i've decided it's time for a new creative project.  So many things have inspired me to do this. I've been reading some of my favourite photography books and a few days ago I watched one of my favourite films Yes Man. In this film Zooey Deschanels character goes out for a run at 6am every morning with a group of people and her camera, taking photos and getting exercise. I love this idea and i'm planning to create my own version of this. I want to spend more time outdoors with my camera. Creating My Raw Food Kitchen

Yesterday, I received a parcel with my new dehydrator and spiralizer, as well as soon other raw kitchen supplies. I've been wanting a dehydrator for well over a year, and finally decided that now is the right time.  I was very excited to say the least.  I went for a Stockli, which i've heard is really good, so i'm looking forwards to lots of creative time in the kitchen over the next few weeks. Today, Luke and I tried out the spiralizer, which was a bit more complicated than we expected, but we did get the hang of it eventually.  We made carrot and courgette spaghetti, and had that with salad, apple, cashew nuts and olives.  Tomorrow i'm hoping to make some raw crackers or kale chips  I'm looking forwards to experimenting and coming up with some new recipes.
